Our Story

We met in Mrs. Farris’ fourth grade class, where we bonded over The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and our mutual love of roller blading. By sixth grade, it was true love – but not really – since we “broke up” just a few short months later, as middle schoolers do. Despite my embarrassingly long and obnoxious crush on Matthew (who was determined to date virtually everyone else), we remained “just friends” until I moved in our junior year of high school and we inevitably drifted apart.

It wasn’t until the spring of 2012, when a mutual friend suggested a group get-together at our local geek trivia night, that we became reacquainted. Over the next four years, we dated, moved in together, and adopted a small zoo of furry friends. Eventually, it became apparent that we were in it for the long haul, and so, on October 10, 2016 we decided to make our engagement official!

When & Where

The Engine Room

601 S Madison Ave, Monroe, GA 30655

Our wedding ceremony and reception will take place at the Engine Room on Saturday, September 23, 2017. The festivities will begin at 5:00 PM sharp and will immediately be followed by a cocktail hour and dinner reception.

Questions & Answers

“What should I wear?”

Fancy friends, dress to impress or how you feel best! If we had to define our dress aesthetic, we’d call it “semi-formal”, but feel free to get creative with your fashion choices. We know you’re going to look great!

“Where should I park?”

Parking is located immediately across South Madison Avenue in the designated lot.

“Sitters are expensive! Are my children invited?”

Absolutely! While we can definitely appreciate your choice to enjoy a grown-up night out, we are equally happy to accommodate your children during the ceremony and reception.

“Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?”

Both the ceremony and reception will be located indoors. There is, however, a lovely patio that will be available for your enjoyment during the cocktail hour and throughout the evening.

“I heard the ceremony is going to be “unplugged”. What the heck does that mean?”

We are honored to have you all as witnesses to our vows and the beginning of our marriage. With this in mind, we invite you to be truly present with us, and respectfully request that all cameras and phones be turned off during the ceremony. We look forward to sharing our professional photos after the big day!

“I have special dietary needs. Will you be able to accommodate me?”

We have planned for much our menu to feature both vegetarian friendly and gluten-free options. However, if you have additional concerns, please feel free to contact us, and we will do our best to assist you.

“I’m coming from out of town. Where should I stay?”

For those of you interested in spending the night closer to the venue, we recommend booking a room at the Country Inn and Suites in Braselton, Georgia.
